Hey Everyone!!!
Just read the article “Charity begins at home” by Brian Catterson of Motorcyclist Magazine. He brings to our attention the many brain and spinal injuries suffered by motorcyclists everyday. Although many of us motorcyclists contribute to noteworthy charities, nothing is really done for our behalf. Brian states that former motocross champ Heinz Kinigadner, whose seen his brother and son become paralyzed , has helped start a new research organization.
Always ride safely and wear your protective gear at all times. Especially the helmet!!!!
You can’t imagine how many people here in Greece refuse to wear one out of stupidity and ignorance. Thus causing motorcycle deaths to reach an all time high. Despite a decrease in traffic fatalities as a whole in Greece, two wheeled accidents have risen and contribute to 27% of all traffic accidents…

Umm… What does one say?
This is one time when a picture says it all
We need to find a way to educate people on littering…
I don’t know if any of you remember the old commercial on American television where an Indian comes across a highway.
Well, in the ad, the Indian sees all the garbage and a tear comes rolling down his cheek.
That’s what comes to mind every time I ride by an informal garbage dump here in Greece or anywhere in the world my travels may take me.
You see folks, I just can not comprehend the injustice of it all.
My mind can not grasp the fact that such stupidity exists in mankind.
I can’t wrap my fingers around the concept of throwing god knows what out the window.
It’s seems so… wrong.
I am sending this out to all the people out there who sometimes forget to think.
I am sending this to all those who forget that this is our home.
I am sending this out to everyone willing to listen.
I am saying let’s have a little common sense here people…
Doesn’t anyone care?
Let us all enjoy what nature has given us.
But let us also try and leave it the way we found it, for those that come after we have gone.
“Nows’ the time to turn the tide
Nows’ the time to fight
Let us not go gently to the endless winter night”- (Red Tide)Neil Peart

Hey there folks!!!
I know I’m a bit slow at updating the blog.
But!!!! It’s been a bit busy here in Greece. With the most holidays out of any country in Europe…
Well, someone had to drink the wine…The holidays are over for now at least…
Now let’s get down to it. I’ve been receiving many e-mails to do a scooter tour by how do I say it… you normal folks out there.
Stand up and be counted. You know who you are!!!
First off I’d like to thank you for all the feedback.
You see it actually payed off. Someone was listening.
So, for 2008 we decided to add a scooter tour.
Two wheels are what we’re all about and we like to see as many of our fellow humans out there riding.
Yes, scooters are fun and also a great form of affordable, economic and ecologically sound transportation.
So why not travel on a scooter? Why not experience the wonderful sights and smells from your perch atop a (not so) mighty steed.
Why not enjoy all the pleasures of The Peloponnese…
Come join us this summer. For some hot fun in the sun on two wheels.

It’s been a rather tough year here in Greece this year. Heat wave after heat wave. No rain for months on end and a dry winter led to some of the worst forest fires in Greece’s history. As for us here at Greek Moto Adventures it was a quieter year than expected. With a neck injury to yours truly I had to cancel a tour being that I was unable to ride and lead the tour properly. I’ve been getting better with some physical therapy though and have started riding again.
Unfortunately with the fires it makes for some surreal trips up in the mountains where I love to ride the most. It’s also a shame that most of the fires were “man made”. I’m no biggy on conspiracy theories but…
Let’s see one small example: Parnitha burns ( Parnitha was the heart and lungs of Athens being host to hundreds of species of animal and plant life.) A few days later Greek government sells off land to Casino ( Been pushing for land deal for years but Forest is protected by greek law) Hmmm…. Makes you think don’t it… Another thing the government has already alotted 30% of the land that was burned down ( nearly 3 million hectares) for development. If you trace the fires pathe it also conveniently follows the path of the proposed Ionian Highway. Do you smell something other than smoke hear.
Also Greece is now set to receive money that Europe withheld previously because of misuse by the Greek officials. And the last tiny example is the misuse of billions of euros( packages sent out to EU nations to build Hospitals, roads, schools, recycling and Garbage facilities that were never built or built inadequately) that Greece would have to start paying back to help the newer EU members like Bulgaria, Rumania, Slovakia, etc. Now with this tragedy Greece is set to receive more aid and push back the timetable on it’s debts to Europe.
So, I raise my glass and toast the pigs(Politicians/Citizens) of Greece who are constantly raping this lovely country and destroying what to me is one of the most wonderous places on our planet. They’re already misapropriating the donations from thousands of people here in Greece and abroad. I gues Karamanlis, Papandreas and the rest need a new villa and a nice holiday to ponder how many more ways there are to plunder Greece and devastate her majesty… Cheers (Jeers) my friends…
